GUBI SILK LANTERN wall lamp

Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen showed the Silk Lantern lamps at the 1951 Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition, but the family was never produced until GUBI brought it to market. A shade of 100% natural silk diffuses the light into gradients of brightness and shadow, while FSC-certified walnut veneer rings and a black lacquered steel structure frame it in a blend of Japanese-inspired lightness and Danish modern clarity. On the wall lamp the shade appears to float in front of the wall, adding an atmospheric, intimate glow.
