Artek KARUSELLI lounge chair

Designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro in 1964, the Karuselli lounge chair unites function, ergonomics and organic form, and its body-hugging shape reportedly began with the designer making snow chairs with his daughter. The fibreglass shell swivels and rocks, and the seat is upholstered in black leather. Karuselli became an immediate international success when Gio Ponti chose it for the cover of Domus in 1966.
