Artek A808 floor lamp

Alvar Aalto designed Floor Light A808 in 1955 for the National Pensions Institute in Helsinki. The shade is made of delicate hand-turned metal strips that widen in layers and diffuse the light evenly without glare. The polished brass stem creates a beautiful contrast with the black hand-stitched leather-covered stand.
